Alright here it is you’re one stop shop to hunter basics. No Specs, Tactics or Rotations just pure stat info for now.
Hit Rating, the following are the basic percents you will need to be “hit caped” Essentially you are going for 8% in total this may be through talents if you so choose or if you happen to have a Draenai handy. It should be noted that pets now have hit and expertise ratings that scale with the hunter’s hit rating, rounded down to the nearest percent. For example if you are at 7.98% hit, your pet will be at 7% hit and will not be hit capped
To never miss a level 80 mob 5%
To never miss a level 82 mob or heroic boss 6%
To never miss a level 83 mob or Raid Boss 8% (263 hit rating if you must know the exact number)

Haste
First of all to a few of the survival hunters who say they shoot faster than me. No, no you don’t. My Steady Shot is at all times a 1.45 second cast which is less than the 1.5 sec gcd, I actually shoot too fast for the global cooldown. Either way haste is not an issue for BM hunters, we don’t need it, it is a garbage stat for us as we get all the haste we need from our talents in Serpent’s Swiftness. This isn’t to say you should not wear gear that has haste on it. Let’s face it Hit rating and Haste are on pretty much every piece of hunter gear, since Naxx I haven’t been below 8.5% Hit and I have always had haste on my gear, it’s just on almost all hunter mail, so wear it, just don’t go for it as BM.
Primary Stats:
BM Hunters-Attack Power, Agility, Critical Strike (haste is moot as we are naturally at the haste cap with talenting.) After that hit, intellect (you do need mana for your shots after all) and stamina. We don’t use stamina for anything as BM hutner’s but it’s going to go up with the gear we put on naturally.
Simply stated:
ATP>AGI>CRIT>HIT>INT>STAM
Also if you see any hunters with spirit, strength or spell power, slap them.
