I figured I would list off some of the useful macros I’ve come to create and use to this day. I have most of these bound to various buttons on my Razer Lachesis mouse.
The Lazy Shot Macro (for times when topping the dps charts doesn’t matter and you just want to slack off but still do reasonable numbers.)
#showtooltips
/castsequence [nomod] Multi-Shot, Arcane Shot
/cast [mod:shift] Kill Shot
Essentially what this macro does is it puts Multi-Shot and Arcane shot on one button in a sequence. Doing it this way means you are losing a bit of time as Multi has a 10 second cooldown where Arcane only has a 6 second cooldown still with my spec and back when I had mostly Naxx 25 gear I was able to do 3-4k dps fairly easily by spamming this and steady shot. The line at the end allows me to hit shift and my mouse button at the same time to give easy access to my kill shot.
The all in one Sting Macro (no it doesn’t play Message in a Bottle…yet)
#showtooltips
/cast [nomod] Serpent Sting
/cast [mod:shift] Scorpid Sting
/cast [mod:ctrl] Viper Sting
When pressed with no modifier key it fires good old fashioned Serpent Sting to feed your dps meter. When shift is held it will fire Scorpid Sting, I use this frequently as I raid sitting by a healer and I like to help out with healing, soft enrages on bosses, and agro switches for tanks, healers do appreciate when you help them. The last line fires Viper Sting when ctrl is pressed so you can sap all that lovely mana off the boss.
More to come soon.
My personal favorite the all in one pet care macro
/cast [modifier] Revive Pet; [target=pet, dead] Revive Pet; [nopet] Call Pet; Mend Pet
If your pet is not out it will call your pet, even if mounted. When your pet is alive it will cast mend pet. When your pet is dead it will revive your pet. If for some reason your pets body disappears (this happens if your pet rez is cancelled while casting a lot) press shift and the button again and your pet will revive.
